aurora is the main villain in the story and likes to sabotage others. she is very popular and always tries her hardest and is hell bent on winning for one of her friends. she usually wears very short skirts or dresses and like to wear makeup, and she's very pretty. she appears as nice but can be quite manipulative and plays to her own advantage. nevertheless, she is very hard working and skilled at most things, and although in a competition setting she can be manipulative and unkind, normally she is nice enough to most people, and would do anything for wren.

aurora's best friend, wren is by far the shyest character in the story. she never talks to anyone except aurora, and is scared of basically everything. she was forced to take part in the competition, leading to aurora also joining to come with her. she, like aurora, likes to wear short skirts and dresses, wears makeup, and is also pretty. however she tries to keep out of everyone's way as much as possible and focuses on the competition instead. she is very shy but is also really nice and cares about aurora a lot.
lauren
Lauren is just a normal person. she's kind, helpful, fairly good at the competition, and doesn't stress about it much. she wants to win, but not to the point where she'd join alliances or try and eliminate others. she is friends with eliza and poppy
eliza
Eliza is really chatty and makes friends with everyone. she's really sweet but she is also viewed as the sterotypical blonde popular girl. she's friends with lauren, aurora, poppy, and would be friends with wren but she won't talk to her. eliza doesn't mind whether she wins or not, she's mostly there for a good time.
veronica
veronica is an AMAZING actress and singer. she wins the talent show. slightly shy and easily manipulated, veronica is at first believed to be the villain because aurora gets her to join an alliance with her and Veronica was easily able to act well to turn people on each other resulting in people being voted out. however, she's a better actress than aurora thinks....

She is sickly and her youthful appearance is plagued by a deep look of pain on her face, she is frail and looks deathly thin, with deep burrowing sockets where her eyes should be, accompanied by what appears to be incredibly dark eye bags, so purple it looks like she has multiple black eye. She wears a purple bandana loosely tied around her head. That is all you can see before he stuffs the letter in his pocket. You are left to wonder... who is she?

Lvthie inherited his late grandfathers farm, The Forested Ranch, which had grown overrun with weeds and trees. Being surrounded by the overgrowth made him feel comfort but he knew he needed to clear it. For almost half his first year he cleaned the farm and restored the town, exhausting work but rewarding as he met his now husband, Sebastian, and made multiple friends, especially with the children once they found out he was a fae. Lvthie loved the town and more importantly the restored ranch, which he owned plenty of livestock and horses (Mainly Draft breeds as they made farm work easier). As the years progressed he and Sebastian adopted their son, daughter, and Leo into their family. Events slowly became more lively as the town became more popular, Lewis revealed his relationship with Marnie (thanks to Lvthie for convincing him) and they married during the Fall of Year 4.
Lvthie was proud of the community he helped restore and build, and even prouder as he watched the town expand and more farms come to life.

He says, “When the sea is rough, I keep my hands busy. It helps me stay afloat.”

Event: You find Nino waist-deep in water, trying to retrieve something. He’s soaked and shaken. You help him out of the waves, and he clutches a necklace. Choices:

He explains it was Kailani’s charm, lost in the surf. “I promised I’d protect her magic.”

You find Nino sitting alone on a washed-up log, the ocean glowing silver under the moon. He’s tossing a shell between his hands, deep in thought. As you approach, he smiles—but it’s a little shy.
Nino: “I come here when the tide’s low. Everything feels quieter. Honest, somehow.” He looks out to sea for a moment, then back to you. “There’s something I’ve been carrying for a while now… and every time we talk, I almost say it. But I stop myself, like the waves pulling back before they crash.”
A pause.
Nino (softly): “It’s you. I like you. More than I should’ve let myself.” He runs a hand through his hair, avoiding your eyes for a second. “Didn’t mean to drop that on you like a fishing net, but… there it is.”
Choices:
🌊 “I like you too, Nino.” 💕 His eyes light up with surprise, then a grin spreads across his face. “Yeah?” He nudges your shoulder playfully, then bumps it again with a laugh. “That’s… that’s really good to hear.” The two of you sit there, shoulder to shoulder, until the stars twinkle into the early morning. (Romance path begins 💖)
🌙 “I need more time.” He nods slowly, the smile still there, just softer. “No pressure. You’ve got time. I’ll still be around… same beach, same tides.” (Stay close friends, romance possible later.)

[Cutscene Begins]
The screen fades in to the sound of heavy rain and rolling thunder. You're walking with an umbrella when you spot movement through the mist— It’s Nino, standing in the downpour at the edge of the path, dripping wet, shirtless, hair plastered to his forehead, laughing to himself.
He looks up and grins when he sees you. Nino: “Caught in the rain too? Guess the clouds had other plans.”
He twirls once, arms out, soaked and carefree. “Isn’t it wild how sometimes everything just washes away?”
He takes a few steps toward you, barefoot in the mud. “I used to think I had to be calm, collected, like Kailani. But with you? I feel like I can be this.” He points to the puddles, to his soaked self. “Messy. Real. Alive.”
Suddenly, he splashes a puddle—on purpose—right at your feet, eyes sparkling. “Race you to the big oak!”
[Cutscene: A rainy montage begins]
You and Nino run laughing through the puddles
He slips, you catch him (or vice versa)
He dares you to dance in the rain—he twirls you by the hand
Finally, breathless, he takes your hands and holds them tight, rain still falling around you
Nino (softly): “Hey... I think I’m in love with you.” His voice is serious now, but still warm. “And I don’t care how soaked I am. If this is what love looks like… I’ll take it.”
Choices:
💞 “I love you too.” He pulls you in and kisses you—rain and all. You both laugh, forehead to forehead, arms wrapped tight. (You can now receive the Mermaid Pendant.)
💧 “I’m not ready.” He nods, respectful. “No rush. I’m just glad I can be this version of me with you.” You walk home together, sharing the umbrella. (Keeps relationship open but slower paced.)
💙 Nino's 14-Heart Event 💙
Trigger: Visit the beach at sunset on a sunny day, after receiving a letter from Nino inviting you to “meet where the sea breathes.”
[Cutscene begins] You walk onto the beach just as the sun begins to dip below the horizon. The tide is low, and the sky is streaked with pinks and golds. Nino is waiting barefoot near the edge of the water, holding something behind his back.
Nino (soft smile): (Player)… You came. I was hoping we could be somewhere quiet. Just you, me, and the sea.
He guides you along the shoreline to a rocky outcrop you’ve never noticed before. Hidden between the boulders is a tiny natural tide pool, glowing faintly with bioluminescent light. Nino kneels beside it.
Nino: This is my secret place. I used to come here when I was a kid, when I was scared or lost or dreaming too big. And now… I want to share it with you.
He pulls out a small, hand-carved driftwood box and opens it, revealing several seashells, a tiny compass, and a piece of sea glass shaped like a heart.
Nino (nervously): These are my treasures. But they’re just pieces of a bigger truth. The real treasure… has always been you.
He reaches for your hand and places the sea glass heart in your palm.
Nino (voice shaking slightly): You make this town feel like home. You make the sea calmer. You make me better. So, wherever you go—I want to follow the tide to you.
You have the option to kiss him or rest your head on his shoulder. Either way, the cutscene ends with the two of you sitting together as the tide gently rolls in, stars appearing one by one.
[After the Event:] The sea glass heart appears in your house as a decor item. If interacted with, it glows faintly and plays a soft ocean sound. Nino also occasionally hums the tune from that evening when it rains.

She shows you a scraped elbow, nothing serious. She admits that sometimes she takes risks just to feel something. There’s a touch of sadness behind her usual brightness.

The player walks onto the beach. A cutscene triggers. Kailani is standing by the shore, dripping wet, surfboard stuck in the sand behind her. She’s brushing sand off her arms, her wetsuit rolled down to her waist, revealing a tank top underneath.
Kailani: "Hey! You caught me at the tail end of my surf. The waves were amazing today."
She smiles, but something about her expression is slightly distant.
Kailani: "Surfing always clears my mind... but sometimes it dredges stuff up too."
She gestures for the player to sit on the sand next to her.
Kailani: "You know... I didn’t always love the ocean. When I was younger, I had a bad experience. Got pulled under by a current while snorkeling with my cousins. I thought I was done for."
[Player choice appears]
"That sounds terrifying. Are you okay talking about it?" (+50 friendship)

She glances at the player.

She’s afraid she’ll self-sabotage—like she always has.

aurora - character in a book idea i had
aurora is the main villain in the story and likes to sabotage others. she is very popular and always tries her hardest and is hell bent on winning for one of her friends. she usually wears very short skirts or dresses and like to wear makeup, and she's very pretty. she appears as nice but can be quite manipulative and plays to her own advantage. nevertheless, she is very hard working and skilled at most things, and although in a competition setting she can be manipulative and unkind, normally she is nice enough to most people, and would do anything for wren.

aurora's best friend, wren is by far the shyest character in the story. she never talks to anyone except aurora, and is scared of basically everything. she was forced to take part in the competition, leading to aurora also joining to come with her. she, like aurora, likes to wear short skirts and dresses, wears makeup, and is also pretty. however she tries to keep out of everyone's way as much as possible and focuses on the competition instead. she is very shy but is also really nice and cares about aurora a lot.

Lauren is just a normal person. she's kind, helpful, fairly good at the competition, and doesn't stress about it much. she wants to win, but not to the point where she'd join alliances or try and eliminate others. she is friends with eliza and poppy

Okay, this story is called Hidden in the Dark. It's a historical fiction taking place in England, 1855. ( I've never done a historical fiction before, because I'm not really into them, but it would be a shame to let a decent idea go to waste.) This will probably suck, but here I go anyway.
14-year-old Lorelei's mother, Elouise, died mysteriously when Lorelei was 9, and gave her a special necklace. 5 years later, Lorelei's father, James, got a job with the local gang in order to care for his daughter, but something went wrong, and James ended up in prison. Lorelei, alone in the world, cut her hair short and got a job in the local mines under the name Lawrence. The mines were dangerous enough on their own. But Lorelei's boss, Mr. Blackwood, made them worse. Luckily, Lorelei found friends: Will, John, and Caleb. Caleb noticed something is off with Lorelei, or should I say, Lawrence. Lorelei and Caleb became close friends, and one day, Caleb figured out Lorelei's secret. The two grow closer and eventually fall in love. But there's a lot of evil in the mines, and the friends find out that Mr. Blackwood is more than meets the eye. When a mining tunnel Lorelei and Caleb were in collapses under suspicious circumstances, it's up to the twosome to stop Mr. Blackwood once and for all.
